Meet The Team

Nekeia Boone Founder + Creative Director

Former UX copywriter and senior tech manager, leaving the corporate world to make ice cream isn’t something she ever planned to do. Eating ice cream however has always been her thing. No matter the weather, give this girl a cone and she was happy.

Born in Harlem NYC, Nekeia grew up surrounded by diverse foods and developed a passion for cooking at an early age. Grandma Tudy taught her the importance of cooking with instinct and shared her secrets to making several Afro-Caribbean staples. Collard greens, baked macaroni, bread pudding, sweet potato pie, fried chicken … are you drooling yet? There’s a rich history in these dishes, and introducing them to a broader audience in a unique way is what inspired her to start this brand.

Like most Black families, Nekeia’s expressed their love by sharing good food together. This philosophy helped shaped Tudy’s Kitchen’s mission statement, aimed at spreading joy through our delightfully delicious flavors.

Paola Salviano Brand Photographer + Illustrator

We don’t know what we’d do without Paola. Our photographer, illustrator, photo editor - she’s literally the reason why we have a brand image at all.

Born and raised in Brazil, Paola is a true creative and explores her talents in a number of areas. Her background is in architecture, which she currently focuses on while further pursuing her career in photography.

Paola’s Brazilian roots means she’s no stranger to indigenous and African influences on cuisine. Though her photography, she uses her talent as a means of storytelling, sharing the history of these traditions.

Lelani Lewis Food Stylist

A chef and culinary activist, Lelali creates inspiring audience experiences with her innovative and vibrant approach to food.

Growing up in South London with Grenadian and Irish heritage, Lelani experienced the diversity of food from a young age. She showcases this deep connection to culinary history from around the world in her work.

Her latest project, Code Noir, explores the rich culinary history of the Caribbean. An immersive dinner exploring the region, it’s through food and culture the guests get to experience history through all senses.
